FREQUENTLY ASKED SESSION QUESTIONS
When is the best time to book a newborn session?
Newborn Photography sessions are best booked in the middle of your second trimester. Newborn Sessions should be booked at least 6-8 weeks in advance as only a limited number of newborns are scheduled each month to ensure I am free to accommodate them all within the needed time frame once they arrive. The best time to book is always before your baby is here.
How old should my newborn be for the session?
Newborn Sessions are best when your infant is within the first 5-21 days of birth. I ask that all my clients let me know within 3 days of your baby's birth to ensure getting you on the schedule within those first precious days of your new baby's life.
When is the best time for a maternity session?
Maternity Photography is best done between your 7th and 8th month if pregnancy ( 30-35 weeks). If you are carrying multiples, close to 6-7 months. Although this may feel a bit late to you, we want to have that perfect bump showing for your session!
Can my husband and other children join me for the maternity session?
Of course! Husbands are always welcome, and children are encouraged to participate in your maternity session as well. Not only is this a special time in your life, but theirs as well.
Do you offer any discounts for booking the maternity and newborn session together?
Yes! Please email me by getting in touch with the heading to the contact section, or just click HERE!
When is the best time to photograph my baby?
If you missed the newborn sessions, 3 months in the studio is a great age to start! Otherwise, I recommend waiting to photograph your baby between 6-8 months of age. Around this time your baby is hitting some adorable milestones such as sitting up, which gives us much more flexibility and options in posing for your session.
Can my Pet be in the session?
Although I love and appreciate your furry family members of the family, due to potential allergy and sanitary precautions for all my clients, pets are not allowed to participate in studio sessions.
What is required of me for a newborn session?
Nothing but a baby! I DO NOT require that you withhold any feedings from your baby for any time prior to our session or keep them awake prior to our session. These are such delicate sessions, and to be handled with the upmost care. That means, the same goes with meeting the needs of your baby regardless of any pictures.
I do ask that you just bring an extra set of clothes to go home in, accidents do happen during pictures!
