How to Prepare for your Floral Appointment

Updated: Jun 3, 2019

Your wedding day florals can make a huge impact on the overall look of your big day! The flowers you choose help create the atmosphere, the color scheme, and the style of the entire wedding. While you have likely browsed Pinterest endlessly with searches like "Summer Wedding Bouquet" and found some incredible inspiration, there are a few more things you need to do before your floral appointment to be prepared! 1. Browse, Pin, Print

Like I said, I know you have searched Pinterest high and low for inspiration, and that is great! Make sure you print off photos to bring to your floral appointment to show the florist exactly what it is about each bouquet you love.

2. Bring a color swatch

To ensure that your bouquets flow well with the other elements in the day, it is best to bring a color swatch to your appointment of your bridesmaids dresses or other linens you might incorporate at your wedding.

3, Know your numbers

It is super important to have all of your numbers written down when you arrive to your floral appointment. How many bridesmaid bouquets, groomsmen boutonnières? Corsages for mothers and grandmothers and boutonnières for fathers and grandfathers and ushers. How many tables need floral centerpieces? Do you need petals for a flower girl? Do you have an arbor or cross that needs florals? Are you doing a bouquet toss and need an extra bouquet for that?

In the North Georgia area and searching for an amazing florist? Check out my friends at Downtown Flowers in Toccoa and Clarksville. Kaitlan and Dillon Long are some of the nicest people I have met in the wedding industry and are wildly talented! (They also offer Tuxedo Rentals!)
