Non-Baby Items to Stock up on Before Baby Arrives

It’s easy to compile and think of all the things to stock up on before baby arrives-- diapers, wipes, bottles, burp cloths, etc., but one thing you may not be thinking about are all the other household essentials that you will need after baby makes their debut. Prepping for the arrival of our fourth baby has me making all the lists, so I thought I would compile this one to share for all you expecting mamas as well!

Stocking up on these items is so worth it-- not having to run to the store to grab something those first few weeks is super helpful. Some of these are super obvious, but here are a few notes on what I included on MY list. (You can check out a full list on Amazon HERE!)

Snacks: Those late-night feedings mean a lot of late-night snacks. I tried my best to include a mixture of healthy and indulgent snacks. Oatmeal is a great quick and easy breakfast; nuts are a great source of protein which is a must when nursing.

All the laundry things: I am excited to try the Pampers Pure soap this time. I’m normally a big fan of Dreft, but I love Pampers, so I’m going to give it a whirl. Oxi Clean baby for all of those spit-up and blowouts... need I say more.

Lactation Support: I loved having body armor after Emma was born-- I felt like it helped keep me hydrated and kept my milk supply up! Extra Breastmilk Storage Bags, extra bottle brushes, nursing pads, and lactation cookies.

Hygiene: Dry shampoo is a lifesaver those first few weeks (who am I kidding... all of motherhood.) Chapstick, lotion, face wipes-- because even though you probably aren’t wearing much makeup, it is really refreshing to have a clean face at the end of the day

Postpartum care: Motrin, Coffee, Tuck pads, the BLUE Dermoplast (the red burns), coffee, sitz bath, and more COFFEE.

Household Items: Paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning wipes, soap, hand sanitizer, trash bags, paper plates, dish soap, batteries (for all those baby gadgets that you forgot needed them), Kleenex (for all those hormonal meltdowns...we’ve all been there), aluminum foil (for all those leftover baby meals that friends might bring), Q-tips, and cotton pads.

Miscellaneous: Thank you cards (to write in as you receive baby gifts, meals, etc.), freezer meal books (GREAT for prepping some things before baby arrives).
