Hey, there! Ellie here- Bailey's Studio Assistant. Bailey asked me if I would be interested in sharing on the blog about the newborn session we had for our baby girl in October. Of course I said yes because I would absolutely love to take the opportunity to brag about how beautiful our photos are thanks to Bailey!
As a bit of an entrepreneur turned "momprenuer" myself, it has been such a blessing to work with Bailey these past couple of years and see the behind the scenes reality of being a mom while operating a full-time business. Entering into her process and learning from her along the way has been an invaluable honor. Bailey has such an incredible heart for her clients and her family and it shows through her intentionality, generosity, passion, and grace!
Sophia's Newborn Session
As a brand new mom, I was not about to go to the store to try to find the prefect dress that fit well, photographed well, or matched well with whatever my husband was wearing. Enter: the client wardrobe. We of course took advantage of the client wardrobe because who wouldn't! It is one of the many tangible ways that shows Bailey's intentionality with her clients. She takes the stress of purchasing clothes for photos for the whole family off of moms. As a nod to the fall season, I chose to wear a smocked rusty colored dress and paired that with a light seasonally-colored flannel for my husband Wynn.
Sophia had some trouble gaining weight for the first few weeks of her life and as a result she was usually more often fussy than not. That was still the case at the time of our newborn session so I was worried that we wouldn't get many photos without her crying. Of course, Bailey worked her magic and helped us calm Sophia enough to get a whole gallery of beautiful (and mostly tear-free) photos. Even the photos with Sophia crying are just sweet reminders of the first days of our precious girl's life.
I am so thankful to have these moments captured so beautifully by Bailey. Looking back on it now- 5 months later and nearing 10 pounds chunkier- I can't even remember my sweet Sophia being as small as she was. Having a tangible and visual reminder of those sleepless lost days is something I will hold close for years to come.
