My Favorite Podcasts and Audiobooks for Busy Mamas

I’m not a big fan of silence. Chances are if I’m alone I’m listening to a podcast or audiobook or music in my headphones. If I’m in the car, a podcast or kids storytime is most likely playing, and if we are hanging out as a family, music is most always on. I love having podcasts and audiobooks in all sorts of categories to browse and enjoy when I’m running errands, at the gym, going on walks, tidying up the house after the kids have gone to bed, or while I’m working on projects/tasks around the house or at my computer. Here are a few of my favorites that I’m currently listening to or have completed this year! Podcasts I’m currently listening to:

Work and Play with Nancy Ray- An all-time favorite of mine. I’ve been listening to this podcast since she first began a few years back. She now produces new podcasts every other Tuesday on a variety of topics such as motherhood, faith, work, book reviews, entrepreneurship, and so much more! Glorious in the Mundane with Christy Nockles- This podcast is a little sporadic, but the content and conversations on here always leave me encouraged and uplifted. This summer she went through a study on Psalms and I really really enjoyed that! It is one that I can put on and just get lost in listening to her voice- plus she has some really amazing guests. Her Pursuit with Cason Schulze- A podcast I’ve dived into more recently all about Christian motherhood, daily rhythms, time management, and realistic routines. These episodes are the perfect bite-sized content (15 minutes-ish) for carpool lines or on-the-go. I love how she weaves Biblical principles and Scripture into real life tasks. I feel like I always learn something new when listening.

Consider the Wildflowers by Shanna Skidmore- A new podcast that I have loved listening to. This one is more for entrepreneurs, but it is a great conversational podcast. In these episodes you can listen to stories of industry leaders, and up and coming entrepreneurs about how they got their start. You can hear their stories of redefining success and building their lives and businesses.

Made for This with Jennie Allen- I love listening through different series in this one. This summer was geared around Jennie’s most recent book “Find your People” and about biblical friendship- so challenging yet encouraging! Risen Motherhood- Probably my favorite podcast to listen to- I cannot wait for them to come back after taking the summer off. I find myself going back and listening to episodes over and over again. These women are a wealth of knowledge and wisdom when it comes to biblical motherhood and are so encouraging in a multitude of different aspects of life and motherhood. Their podcasts are full of tips, devotionals, conversations with other Christian women, and topics that are not always talked about on other platforms.

Relatable with Allie Beth Stuckey- Another podcast I’ve recently started listening to. This one is a little deeper and debatable since she dives heavily into biblical Truths, the news, politics, and the media. I don’t listen to every episode since she releases them so frequently, but I find myself searching her podcast to hear her biblical take on hot topics and theology.

Audiobooks I’ve enjoyed this year -Get out of your head by Jennie Allen -Uninvited by Lysa Terkeurst -Growing Boldly by Emily Ley

-The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey -Good to Great by Jim Collins

-How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
