There are so many benefits to having a photography session in the Hello Jude studio. Although there are times and places for outdoor and in-home sessions, you just can’t go wrong with choosing the consistency and predictability of the studio. Here you’ll find a few of the reasons I love having a natural light studio to photograph my clients!
(No) weather- One of the main reasons I love the studio is that weather is simply never an issue. With all the natural light that flows into the studio, almost no day is too dark that we can’t have a successful session in the studio. Rain or shine, the bright walls reflect enough light that your photos will turn out light and airy every time. This predictability takes away any worry of having to reschedule due to weather, which is such a relief especially if your family is already in a stage of unpredictability with small children or a newborn!
Lighting- Because of the placement, size, and direction of the large windows in the studio, lighting is always consistent! This means that no matter what time of day, you can have a successful and beautiful session. You aren’t limited to just mornings or evenings when the sun is at its perfect height. This gives flexibility when scheduling sessions to best fit the family’s busy schedule.
Reigns in curious toddlers- Another reason the studio is such a great place for sessions is that it is a space that is big enough for families to move around comfortably but it isn’t too big that your little movers are hard to keep reigned in. This is a special bonus when comparing with outdoor sessions. Although outdoor sessions provide a wonderful environment for laid-back natural photos, it’s hard to keep little ones from digging in the dirt, wandering around, or climbing a tree. The studio creates a neutral environment that eliminates a lot of curiosity about the surroundings. No chasing toddlers in the park needed!
Everything you need is right here- A huge bonus to having your session in the studio is that everything you need is right at your fingertips. You don’t have to try to think ahead about what you might potentially need based on unexpected circumstances if you were outside (think: a change of clothes from rain/dirt, an emergency bathroom run, forgotten toys, etc.). When you’re outside you only have what you thought of or remembered to bring; in the studio, I have you covered. Even the things that you forgot at home can be taken care of when you’re at the studio! Toys, wardrobe, a restroom, areas to nurse, prep bottles, diapers, and more are all available to every family in the studio.
No need for speed cleaning- One last benefit to coming to the studio for photos is that you don’t have to make sure your house is in tip-top shape as you would if you were doing an in-home session. In-home sessions can be beautiful, and I do enjoy them, but there is a lot of added pressure on the family that comes with an in-home session. Do I have good and consistent lighting? Will my home match the aesthetic of the photo editing? Not to mention the stress of having to make sure your home is spotless before the session! With a studio session, all of these concerns are taken away. All you have to do is show up and smile for the camera.
